Criminals now have a harder time - the British Virgin Islands (BVI) has introduced significant regulatory changes for companies, aiming for greater transparency.
The residency requirement for liquidators in solvent liquidations, public availability of current directors' names, mandatory annual financial returns, and the phasing out of bearer shares are all part of a global effort to combat tax evasion and money laundering.
