If you're an angel looking for hot deals, look to Seattle--which could be the most underfunded US city compared to its startup activity. With little competition from local angels, you could get some great deals. (Message me if you'd like to hear about some of them)
Below is the latest data from Pitchbook. Despite being the home of Amazon and Microsoft, we just got surpassed by Washington DC for funding--with San Diego and Austin close behind. Our growth score is the smallest of the top US cities.

Howard Keener and I are launching a FinTech coalition in the Pacific Northwest (https://www.casfintech.org) to connect community banks/credit unions with early-stage FinTechs to get new development via education and discussions leading to proofs of concept and pilot projects.
If you're a community bank/credit union with some big unsolved problems you'd like to get solved, or a startup looking for a community bank/credit union to work with you on your first product, please ping me--even if you're not in the Pacific Northwest. I'd like to hear from you!
