The CFPB released proposed rules for Open Banking in the US on October 19th.

This means that the U.S. will have formal open banking rules for the first time with a focus on giving consumers more control over their financial data.

Just so you know, this 299-page document is only a proposed rule and will go through a period for public review and comment.

I anticipate the final rules won't come out until some time in 2024.

What are your thoughts?

I would love to get a group of enablers and innovators to discuss this rule and what it means for the banking and fintech industry.
