Many FinTech/bank partnerships are neither productive or successful. Some of these partnerships fail to focus on sustainable revenue generating opportunities. In this current environment, with a consolidation in the FinTech ecosystem, remaining focused to build while trimming costs is challenge.
The Walker Group, through the launch of The FinTech Virtual Lunch, continue to connect FinTechs to opportunities within the financial services industry. Our monthly events provide the basis to build valuable connections.
The program we follow is divided into two sections. The first part includes a host leading a discussion along a specific topic. The March event will focus around successful FinTech/bank partnerships. The second part is sharing our respective experiences, projects and opportunities in small breakout sessions.

The latest report on FinTech Investment Landscape 2022 is in. Key learning outcomes are the following:
✳️In 2022 the global investment in FinTech dropped by 30% from 2021
✳️UK FinTech maintained global leadership, having attracted
$12.5 Bn of investments in 2022.
✳️On a global level, FinTech attracted $92 Bn in VC capital in 2022.
✳️VCs deployed $23.3 Bn into earlier stage global FinTech, compared to $31.5 Bn in 2021 and $50.5 Bn in the later stage, compared to $82.4 Bn in 2021.
✳️Seed rounds performed better than expected, netting $7.5 Bn in 2022, a large increase compared to the $5.8 Bn raised in 2021.
✳️In 2022 investment into female-driven FinTechs dropped
to $616 M across 39 deals, representing just 4.9% of total investments in UK FinTech.

✅ WealthTech was born as a fusion of Wealth and Investment Management and FinTech Innovations. It came in strong and quickly grew into its irreplaceable ecosystem. It made Wealth Management and Investment Management nimble and affordable for the wider population.
It also set the standards pretty high from the get-go, forcing out the old ways of managing money.
But it still has a long way to go for mass adoption.
Our last episode of the year will be devoted entirely to understanding the WealTech deeper and its impact on Investment Management.
